Gervasio Deferr became an Olympic champion in men's vault. He won his first gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. His score was an impressive 9.712 points.

He repeated this amazing success at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. There, he won his second gold medal in the vault event. His average score was 9.737 points. To remember these victories, he has a tattoo of each Olympic Games logo on his ankles.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, Gervasio showed his skill on the floor exercise. He earned a silver medal in this event, scoring 15.775 points.

Gervasio Deferr began his gymnastics journey at just five years old. He quickly developed a passion for the sport. He especially loved the floor exercise.

He achieved great success in major competitions. At the 1999 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, he won a silver medal on the floor. He scored 9.750 points. Eight years later, he earned another silver medal at the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Gervasio also won many medals in the Gymnastics World Cup. For example, he won a silver medal in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2000. He also took home a gold medal from Paris, France, in 2001.

Retirement

After a successful career, Gervasio Deferr announced his retirement from gymnastics. This was in January 2011. He left the sport as a highly decorated athlete.
