Gerwyn Price (born 7 March 1985) is a professional darts player from Wales. He used to play rugby union and rugby league too. He plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was ranked the world's number one darts player three times between 2021 and 2022.
Gerwyn Price is known as "The Iceman". He won the World Championship in 2021. He has won 37 big PDC titles. These include three Grand Slam titles in 2018, 2019, and 2021. He also won the World Grand Prix in 2020. With his teammate Jonny Clayton, he won the PDC World Cup of Darts in 2020 and 2023.
In 2016, Price became one of the top 32 players in the PDC. He then won his first Pro Tour title. He reached his first major final at the UK Open in 2017. He has also played in the Premier League Darts six times.

From Rugby to Darts
Gerwyn Price played hooker in rugby union for teams like Neath and Cross Keys. He also played rugby league for South Wales Scorpions. He even played for Pro12 team Glasgow Warriors for a short time.
In 2012, his Cross Keys team won the WRU Challenge Cup. Price scored a try in that final game. He stopped playing rugby in 2014 to focus completely on darts.

Gerwyn Price started playing darts for local teams. A Welsh darts pro, Barrie Bates, told him to try out for the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) in 2014. Price succeeded and earned a two-year tour card.
Early Years in Darts (2014-2016)
In 2014, Price played in the 2014 UK Open. He reached the quarter-finals of a Players Championship event for the first time. He also made it to his first semi-final at another Players Championship.
In 2015, Price played in his first World Championship. He also reached the quarter-finals of the World Matchplay. This was his first major quarter-final.
In 2016, Price reached his first PDC final at a UK Open Qualifier. He then won two Players Championship titles. He beat Peter Wright and Jamie Caven in those finals. He also made his debut at the Grand Slam of Darts.
Breaking Through (2017-2018)
In 2017, Price reached his first major final at the UK Open. He lost to Peter Wright in the final. Price and Mark Webster reached the final of the World Cup of Darts for Wales. They lost to the Netherlands.
In the 2018 World Championship, Price won his first match at the event. He reached the third round, where he played against the world champion Michael van Gerwen. Price lost a close match.
Price was chosen to play in the 2018 Premier League Darts. He reached the quarter-finals of several big tournaments in 2018. He also won a European Tour event, the International Darts Open. In 2023, Price reached the quarter-finals of the World Championship. He won two European Tour titles back-to-back. He also reached the final of the Premier League for the first time. Price and Jonny Clayton won the World Cup of Darts for Wales again.
In 2024, Price won two titles in the 2024 World Series of Darts. He won the Nordic Darts Masters and the Australian Darts Masters. He also hit another nine-darter in the Premier League.

In 2022, Gerwyn Price announced he would try boxing. His first fight was planned for April 2022. However, he later decided not to take part in the event. He said he was advised not to box by medical professionals.
