Colin Edward Lloyd (born 7 August 1973), known as Jaws, is an English former professional darts player. He was once the world's top-ranked player. Colin won two big TV tournaments in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). These were the 2004 World Grand Prix and the 2005 World Matchplay.

Colin Lloyd's Darts Career

Starting Out in Darts (1999–2004)

Colin Lloyd used to be a builder before he became a darts star. He first appeared on TV in 1999. In his first big match, he beat Scott Cummings. He then went on to reach the quarter-finals of the 1999 PDC World Matchplay.

Colin played in his first World Championship in 2000. He made a big splash in the 2002 World Championship. He reached the semi-finals, showing everyone he was a top player.

Becoming World Number One (2004–2006)

Colin won his first major title in 2004 at the World Grand Prix. He beat Alan Warriner in the final. His success helped him climb the world rankings.

By April 2005, Colin became the world's number one darts player. He held this top spot for almost two years! Soon after, he won the 2005 World Matchplay title. He hit 15 maximums (180 points) and finished the match with a huge 170 checkout.

He also reached the final of the 2005 World Grand Prix. However, he lost to the legendary Phil Taylor. In 2006, he lost in the first round of the World Championship. He also reached the final of the International Darts League in May 2006.

Later Career and Challenges (2006–2015)

After 2006, Colin's form in TV events dipped. He lost his world number one ranking in 2007. This happened after a tough loss at the 2007 PDC World Championship. He was leading 3-0 in sets but lost 3-4.

Colin continued to face challenges in big tournaments. In 2008, he was ranked 12th in the world. He lost in the first round of the 2008 World Championship. His struggles continued into the 2009 World Championship.

During the 2011 PDC World Darts Championship, Colin showed his passion. He hit the dartboard out of frustration during a match. He later said he regretted it, explaining it came from pure frustration.

In 2012, Colin reached the last 16 of the World Championship. He also hit a nine-dart finish in a European Tour event. This is when a player scores 501 points in just nine darts! He won a ranking title that year, his first in almost two years.

By 2014, Colin missed playing in some major tournaments. This was a first for him. He even considered retiring if his form didn't improve. He dropped out of the top 32 players in the world. By 2015, his ranking fell further. He decided not to enter Q School, which is a way for players to earn their professional tour card.
