Glen Avon is a community located in Riverside County, California, in the United States. It used to be a special kind of area called a census-designated place (CDP). In 2010, about 20,199 people lived there. On July 1, 2011, Glen Avon became part of a new city called Jurupa Valley.

Geography of Glen Avon
Glen Avon is located at 34°1′2″N 117°29′31″W / 34.01722°N 117.49194°W. This means it's in a specific spot on the map.
The area of Glen Avon is about 8.1 square miles (21 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small part being water.
History of Glen Avon
Glen Avon started as a new part of West Riverside. It was named Glen Avon Heights in 1909 by the Riverside Development Company.
In 1909, the people living there wanted a special name for their community. They decided to pick a name by putting suggestions into a hat. A man from Wales, whose childhood home was near the Avon River between two glens, suggested "Glen Avon." This name was chosen, and that's how the community got its unique name.
Becoming Part of Jurupa Valley
On March 8, 2011, people voted on a plan to create a new city. This plan, called Measure A, passed with 54.03% of the votes. Because of this vote, areas like Mira Loma, Pedley, Rubidoux, Glen Avon, and Sunnyslope all became part of the new city of Jurupa Valley. This change officially happened on July 1, 2011.
