Glenn "Swampy" Brydson was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was born on November 7, 1910, and passed away on December 9, 1993. Glenn played as a right winger, which is a forward position in hockey. He spent 8 seasons playing in the National Hockey League (NHL). During his time in the NHL, he played for four different teams: the Montreal Maroons, St. Louis Eagles, New York Rangers, and Chicago Black Hawks.

Glenn Brydson's Hockey Career

Starting with the Maroons

Glenn Brydson began his professional hockey journey when he signed with the Montreal Maroons on February 4, 1931. He played 146 regular season games for the Maroons. This was a big start to his career in the NHL.

Moving to St. Louis

On October 22, 1934, Glenn was traded to the Ottawa Senators. This trade was for another player named Alec Connell. However, Glenn never actually played a game for the Ottawa team. The team soon moved and became the St. Louis Eagles on September 22, 1934. Glenn played one season with the Eagles.

Time with the Rangers and Black Hawks

After his time with the Eagles, Glenn was chosen by the New York Rangers. This happened during a special draft called the Dispersal Draft on October 15, 1935. He played 30 games for the Rangers. On January 26, 1936, the Rangers traded him to the Chicago Black Hawks. This trade involved another famous player, Howie Morenz. Glenn played for parts of three years with the Black Hawks.

Later Career and Retirement

The Chicago Black Hawks later traded Glenn to the New Haven Eagles. This team was part of the International-American Hockey League (IAHL). He was traded for cash. Glenn Brydson decided to retire from playing professional ice hockey in 1942.

Later Life

Glenn Brydson passed away on December 9, 1993. He was buried at Park Lawn Cemetery.
