Glenville is a town located in Schenectady County, New York, United States. It became an official town in 1821. As of the 2020 census, about 29,326 people lived there.
The town of Glenville includes the village of Scotia. It covers the part of Schenectady County that is north of the Mohawk River.

History of Glenville
Glenville is named after Alexander Lindsay Glen. He was from Scotland and bought a large area of land in this region in the 1650s. He named his home, Glen Sanders Mansion, after his home country.
Several historic buildings in Glenville are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These include the Seeley Farmhouse (listed in 1978) and the Swart House and Tavern (listed in 2007). The Bishop Family Lustron House was added in 2008, and the Glenville District No. 5 Schoolhouse in 2013.

- Hoffmans – A small settlement along Route 5 in the western part of Glenville. This was once the site of the first ferry crossing of the Mohawk River in Glenville.
- East Glenville – A developed area along NY-50 in the northeastern section of town. It is a Census-designated place that stretches eastward towards Clifton Park and Ballston.
- Scotia – The Village of Scotia is located in the southern part of the town.
- Stoodley Corners – Often called the "Town Center," this is the main business area of Glenville. It is located around the intersection of Route 50 and Glenridge Road.
- West Glenville – A small community in the northwestern part of town. It has been around since the early 1800s.
