The Story of the Rock Lords
The good Gobots, called Guardians, are busy rebuilding their home planet, Gobotron. Suddenly, a strange spaceship crashes! Leader-1, Turbo, and Scooter go to check it out. Inside, they find two transforming rock people: Solitaire and her helper, Nugget.
Solitaire and Nugget need help to save their planet, Quartex. An evil Rock Lord named Magmar is trying to steal special power scepters from other Rock Lords. He wants to put all the scepters into a machine to make his own scepter super powerful.
Renegade Attack
The Guardians agree to help the Rock Lords. But the evil Renegade Fitor overhears their plan. Soon, the Renegade army attacks Gobotron! Cy-Kill and his Renegades capture Solitaire, Small Foot, and the human friends Nick and A.J.
With Nugget as their guide, Leader-1, Turbo, Scooter, and Matt set off on a rescue mission. They need to save their friends and stop Magmar.
Battle on Quartex
On Quartex, Magmar has already taken many scepters. He only needs three more to complete his plan. One scepter belongs to the Lord of Fossils, another to Solitaire, and the last to Boulder and his forces. Boulder is the only one left to fight Magmar.
Magmar's troops decide to attack Boulder. But Boulder finds out about the attack and plans a strong defense. He almost defeats Magmar!
Meanwhile, Cy-Kill tries to get information from Solitaire. He manages to team up with Magmar, turning the battle against Boulder. The good Rock Lords have to run away.
New Alliances
At first, the good Rock Lords are unsure about the Guardians. They had just been defeated by the Renegades. But Nugget explains that the Guardians are truly there to help. So, the Guardians and the good Rock Lords form an alliance.
The Renegades and Magmar soon attack again in their ship, Thruster. Leader-1 and Turbo fight them in the air. But they get damaged and can't fly or change into vehicles. Thruster leaves, thinking the Guardians are defeated.
But the heroes survive! They head towards the kingdom of Fossils to protect it. However, Cy-Kill and Magmar get there first. They take the Fossil Lord's scepter, leaving the heroes wondering what to do next.
Escape and Repairs
Back on the Renegade ship, Rogue Star, Nick and A.J. escape from their cell. They free Small Foot. The three friends cause some trouble on the ship before escaping in a Renegade Spacehawk fighter.
They land on Quartex and meet up with Leader-1 and the others. Scooter uses parts from the damaged fighter to build new energy weapons for Boulder and his troops. He also fully repairs Leader-1 and Turbo. Now, the heroes are ready to fight back!
Final Showdown
With new weapons and the element of surprise, the allies march towards Stonehead, Magmar's fort. Inside, Cy-Kill finally gives Solitaire's scepter to Magmar. This fully powers Magmar's own scepter.
Once the scepter is powered, Cy-Kill and his Renegades try to steal it for themselves. Solitaire, who was about to be executed, escapes during the fight. She joins Boulder and the others as they crash into the fort.
The Renegades run away with the stolen scepter, but the Guardians chase them. They find that Thruster, the Renegade ship, was wrecked by the Guardians earlier. Cy-Kill tries to use Magmar's powerful scepter against them. But the energy is too much, and he can't control it.
Leader-1 fires a well-aimed shot that separates Cy-Kill from the scepter. The Renegades finally retreat, and the scepter's power fades away. Magmar and his helpers are still out there, but they are no longer unopposed. With their mission complete, the Guardians say goodbye to the Rock Lords and return to Gobotron.
