List of GoBots characters facts for kids

This is a list of characters from the GoBots series, which are robots that can change into vehicles and other forms. These characters are split into two main groups: the heroic Guardians and the evil Renegades.

Bad Boy is one of the evil Cy-Kill's followers. He acts like a tough street punk, always ready to argue or fight. But he's actually smarter than he seems, which helps him trick others into underestimating him.

Like most GoBots, Bad Boy can change his shape. His other form is a powerful combat jet. He also has blasters built into his hands. If he gets hurt, his special repair systems can fix most of his injuries, as long as he has enough energy.

Bad Boy in the animated series

Bad Boy plays a big part in the episode "Wolf in the Fold." He uses a special device to pretend to be a Guardian named Heat Seeker. While pretending to be a Guardian, Bad Boy secretly gives information to the Renegades. When the Guardians find out there's a traitor, Bad Boy tries to blame Leader-1. But Scooter figures out the truth. Bad Boy escapes using a special beam.

Bad Boy also appears in "Cy-Kill Escapes." He and Herr Fiend send a hidden device to help Renegades escape from the GoBot Prison Moon. In "The Fall of Gobotron," he and Block Head try to start a fight with Turbo. In "Flight to Earth," Bad Boy and Block Head capture the Guardians on Gobotron and take them to prison.

In "The Third Column," Bad Boy joins Zero, who tries to take over the Renegades from Cy-Kill. Bad Boy and Cop-Tur also attack Guardian bases to distract them while Cy-Kill and other Renegades try to steal powerful suits.

Bad Boy in other stories

Bad Boy shows up in a story called Withered Hope. In this story, six GoBots, including Bad Boy, are changed to look like Autobots and Decepticons from the Transformers universe. They are sent to another dimension. They end up on a planet called Transtech Cybertron and are held there. Bad Boy becomes friends with a group called the Malignus gang. The GoBots get upgrades and manage to escape to Earth, where they find another GoBot, Bug Bite, and his new Decepticon friends.

Bad Boy toys

Two different toys were made for Bad Boy. The first was a GoBot toy, based on a Japanese toy line. The second was a special version of a Transformers toy called Powerglide, released only in Japan.

Blaster, also known as RocketMan, is a heroic Guardian GoBot. He can change into a missile launcher.

Blaster in the animated series

Blaster appeared in the episode "The Third Column." He worked at a Guardian weapons facility that was attacked by the Renegades. But the facility's automatic defenses successfully fought off the attack.

Bug Bite

Bug Bite is a Renegade GoBot. He has also appeared in the Transformers stories. In Transformers, he looks like a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, similar to Bumblebee, but he is bigger and carries a blaster.

BuggyMan

BuggyMan is a Renegade GoBot who changes into a dune buggy. Sometimes, he is called "Buggy Boy."

BuggyMan in the animated series

BuggyMan appeared in the Challenge of the GoBots episode "The Final Conflict." He was among the Renegades captured on Gobotron.

In "Flight to Earth," BuggyMan and Geeper-Creeper chase Scooter and Sparky on Gobotron.

Later, BuggyMan, Crasher, and Fly Trap attack a car stunt show. Small Foot fights BuggyMan and wins, but the Renegades get the upper hand until Leader-1 and Turbo arrive to rescue the Guardians.

Cop-Tur

Cop-Tur is an evil blue helicopter who works for Cy-Kill. He appears in a children's book where he, Crasher, and Cy-Kill first come to Earth and team up with a human who wants to take over the world.

Crasher

Crasher is an evil Renegade who works for Cy-Kill. She is usually a black race car, but she has also been seen as a white one. She loves to cause destruction.

Creepy

Creepy is a Renegade who is loyal to Cy-Kill. He changes into a scorpion-like monster.

Creepy in the animated series

Creepy, Scorp, and Vamp helped Stron-Domez the Master Renegade escape from prison on Roguestar, where Cy-Kill had him locked up.

Creepy in comics

Creepy appeared in the comic story "Scooter's Mighty Magnet" as one of Cy-Kill's followers.

Creepy toys

A purple version of Creepy was sold in stores. There was also a special green version that you could get by mailing in proof of purchase from four other GoBots toys.

Dozer, also known as BulldozerMan, is a Guardian GoBot who changes into a bulldozer.

The Guardians set up a lab on Earth to test their power suits. While Defendor and Blaster guarded the lab, Baron Von Joy and Path Finder tested a new suit on Dozer. Dozer also appeared in the episode "The Third Column."

Dumper is a fictional character from the GoBots toy line and the Challenge of the Gobots cartoon. He is a Guardian who changes into a dump truck.

The Guardians set up a lab on Earth to test their power suits. Cy-Kill, Cop-Tur, Crasher, Geeper-Creeper, Pincher, and Snoop attacked the lab. But it was defended by Leader-1, Baron Von Joy, Blaster, Dozer, Dumper, Road Ranger, Scooter, Scratch, and Turbo. Even though the Guardians were winning, a mistake by Baron Von Joy's weapon allowed the Renegades to get away.

Dumper was in the 1986 children's book Collision Course Comet - Robo Machine Featuring The Challenge Of Gobots. In the story, he fought the Renegade GoBot Crasher.

Geeper-Creeper

Geeper-Creeper is a Renegade who follows Cy-Kill. He is green and looks a bit like Hound from Transformers.

Geeper-Creeper in the animated series

Geeper-Creeper first appears in the very first episode of the series. He was among the Renegades captured on Gobotron in "The Final Conflict."

In "It's The Thought That Counts," Cy-Kill, Cop-Tur, Crasher, Geeper-Creeper, Pincher, and Snoop attack a lab. But the Guardians defend it. Even though the Guardians were winning, a mistake by Baron Von Joy's weapon allowed the Renegades to escape.

In "The Fall of Gobotron," after Cy-Kill takes over Gobotron, Geeper-Creeper and Slicks are told to guard a special machine. Scooter tricks them away, leading them into a Guardian trap set by Turbo, Small Foot, and Sparky.

Geeper-Creeper also appears in "Flight to Earth," chasing Scooter and Sparky. In "Destroy All Guardians," he and Tank are seen guarding Cy-Kill. He also appears in "Escape from Elba" and "Clutch of Doom," where he helps put captured Guardians in prison. In "The Third Column," Geeper-Creeper sides with Zero, who tries to take over the Renegades from Cy-Kill.

Grungy

Grungy is a powerful Renegade. He is a copy and brother of the Guardian Power Warrior, Courageous. Grungy was created by special Renegade Power Suits and their main spaceship.

Herr Fiend

Herr Fiend is an evil Renegade scientist, also known as Doctor Go. He is the main "mad scientist" for the Renegades and speaks with a strong German accent.

His other form is a Porsche 928, which looks exactly like the Decepticon Dead End from Transformers.

Herr Fiend in the animated series

In the cartoon, Herr Fiend is called "Doctor Go." He appears in "Battle for Gobotron." Due to animation mistakes, he sometimes looks exactly like the Guardian Zeemon.

In "Doppleganger," Cy-Kill has Doctor Go create robot copies of the Guardians. Doctor Go and Bad Boy also send a hidden device to help Renegades escape from the GoBot Prison Moon.

Doctor Go appears in the movie GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords. In the movie, he uses a "brain stormer" device on a female Rock Lord named Solitaire. Again, due to animation errors, Doctor Go sometimes looks like Baron Von Joy in the movie.

Herr Fiend toys

Hornet

Hornet was among the Renegade GoBot forces who helped the Rock Lord Magmar on the planet Quartex.

Leader-1

Leader-1 is a very important character in the Go-Bots universe. He is the brave leader of the Guardians. In the Transformers universe, Leader-1 is a smaller robot partner to Megatron.

Loco

Loco is one of Cy-Kill's soldiers. The word "loco" means "crazy" in Spanish.

Loco in the animated series

Loco was a long-time Renegade, fighting to defend the Renegades' base on Gobotron. He was used sometimes after that, for example, helping a cyborg arms dealer steal UNICOM materials. Loco appeared in "Renegade Carnival."

Loco in comics

Loco appeared in the Eagle Comics story The Robo Machines. He was a member of the Renegade Robo Machines working for Strom Domez.

Loco toys

Loco's toy was a re-release of a Japanese toy called Steam Robo. It was first sold in 1983 and was available until the end of 1984. It was also sold in Europe.

Monstrous

Monstrous is a Renegade made up of six other Renegades who can combine together to form one giant monster.

Night Ranger

Night Ranger, also known as HarleyMan, is a Guardian GoBot who changes into a police motorcycle. This toy inspired the Transformers character Backtrack.

Pincher is a Renegade GoBot spy. His voice was done by Peter Cullen, who also voiced Optimus Prime.

Cy-Kill, Cop-Tur, Crasher, Geeper-Creeper, Pincher, and Snoop attacked a lab. But it was defended by Leader-1, Baron Von Joy, Blaster, Dozer, Dumper, Road Ranger, Scooter, Scratch, and Turbo. Even though the Guardians were winning, a mistake by Baron Von Joy's weapon allowed the Renegades to escape.

Pincher might have been a Guardian once, but then he was captured and changed by Herr Fiend. Pincher was also among the Renegade GoBot forces who helped the Rock Lord Magmar on the planet Quartex.

Duke Psycho is a Renegade who is good with technology. In a Japanese comic series called Cobra, he was changed into a GoBot along with his partners Cobra and Lady Andromeda.

Psycho appeared briefly in "The Battle for Gobotron." He also had a short but memorable scene in "The Gobotron Saga," where he helped take apart Leader-1. He was also on the cover of the VHS tape for "Cy-Kill's Shrinking Ray."

In one book, Cy-Kill orders Psycho to tell the Renegades to retreat.

Pumper

Pumper is a Guardian who changes into a fire engine. He worked on Command Center 6.

Puzzler

Rest-Q is a Guardian medic who changes into an ambulance.

Rest-Q in the animated series

In "It's The Thought That Counts," Scooter is briefly captured by the Renegades. After being freed, Rest-Q tries to check on Scooter, but Scooter refuses because he was secretly brainwashed by the Renegades.

Rest-Q appeared in "Ultra Zod," where he wore a Power Suit and helped form the Power Warrior Courageous, which defeated Ultra Zod. In "Doppleganger," the Renegades release fake copies of Guardians, including Rest-Q. Later, the real Guardians, with help from Zeemon, Hans-Cuff, and Rest-Q, defeat their copies.

Rest-Q also appeared in "Cy-Kill Escapes," where he repaired Hans-Cuff after he was hurt in a prison break. In "The Fall of Gobotron," Rest-Q repaired Small Foot. In "Flight to Earth," Rest-Q was captured by the Renegades and not allowed to help other injured Guardians. He was later rescued by Scooter and Sparky. Rest-Q also appeared in GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords.

Road Ranger

Road Ranger is a heroic Guardian GoBot who changes into a flatbed trailer truck. He was first introduced in 1984 and later became part of the Transformers series.

Road Ranger is one of the Guardian Go-Bots. He can fly in his robot form and has blasters on his hands.

Small Foot is a fictional character from the GoBots series and later became part of the Transformers universes. Her name is a fun reference to the famous monster truck Bigfoot.

Small Foot is a female GoBot and one of Leader-1's most trusted soldiers. She is a good tracker. Even though she might be smaller, she is full of courage and determination. Small Foot is often seen with Scooter, but she looks up to Leader-1 and often fights by his side. She can sometimes be impulsive because she is eager to impress the older Guardians.

In her robot form, she can shoot energy blasts from the two lights on her chest. She changes into a Toyota Hilux SR5 pickup truck. She also uses a tow cable with a hook in both her robot and vehicle forms. Small Foot was featured in some of the early GoBots commercials.

Small Foot in the animated series

Small Foot first appears in the episode "Trident's Triple Threat." In this episode, her eagerness gets her into trouble when she tries to fight three Renegades at once. Crasher and Cop-Tur hurt her so badly that Turbo has to carry her back to their base.

Spoons is one of the soldiers who works for the Renegade leader Cy-Kill. He changes into a forklift. Spoons was the inspiration for the Transformers Decepticon Deadlift.

Spoons appears in the episode "Doppelganger." He worked with Doctor Go (also known as Herr Fiend) to move a robot copy of Leader-1 that the doctor had created. Later, when the Guardians are escaping from the Renegades, Fitor and Spoons try to stop them, but they fail.

Staks

Staks is a leader of the Guardians who changes into a semi-trailer truck.

Tank is one of Cy-Kill's followers. He is very strong and has a lot of firepower, so he is often used to help the Renegades. Tank is bigger than most GoBots and can cause a lot of damage. In his tank form, he can drive through walls or over cars without slowing down. However, he is not very smart.

Tank in the animated series

Tank first appeared in the very first episode of Challenge of the GoBots.

He was put in charge of the mind-controlled U.S. Army during Cy-Kill's first attempt to invade Earth. But he couldn't catch Turbo and Scooter in New York. Soon after, he went back to Gobotron and was captured with other Renegades.

Tank appeared in "Flight to Earth" and "Return of Gobotron." In "Destroy All Guardians," Geeper-Creeper and Tank were seen guarding Cy-Kill.

Treds, sometimes spelled "Treads," is one of the Guardian GoBots. He was shown in a 1986 GoBots commercial as one of the new Guardians. He changes into an M1 Abrams tank, and later into an M551 Sheridan light tank.

Treds in the animated series

Treds appears in "Et Tu Cy-Kill?" In this episode, he and Tri-Trak help Leader-1's team find the Renegades on an alien planet.

Treds in other stories

Treds is a main character in the story Withered Hope. In this story, six GoBots, including Treds, are changed to look like Autobots and Decepticons from the Transformers universe. They are sent to another dimension. Treds was chosen to pretend to be a Decepticon so he could watch over the Renegades Bad Boy and Bug Bite. They end up on a planet called Transtech Cybertron and are held there. The GoBots get upgrades and manage to escape to Earth, where they find Bug Bite and his new Decepticon friends.

Treds toys

Two different toys were made for Treds. The first was a GoBot toy. The second was a Transformers toy, which was a recolored version of the Autobot Warpath.

Turbo

Turbo is one of the three main heroes of Challenge of the Gobots. He changes into a supercar. In a children's book, Turbo gets badly damaged when Leader-1 brings three astronauts to their base, and they help repair him. In the stories, he has a human-like face, but his toy has a mask-like face, similar to Optimus Prime.

Vamp is a female Renegade GoBot who works for Cy-Kill. She can shoot energy blasts from her eyes. Vamp and Scooter were featured on the cover of issue #2 of the GoBots Magazine.

Vamp in the animated series

Creepy, Scorp, and Vamp helped the Master Renegade escape from prison on Roguestar, where Cy-Kill had him locked up.

Vamp in comics

Vamp appeared in the story "Scooter's Mighty Magnet" as one of Cy-Kill's followers. In the Eagle Comics story The Robo Machines, Vamp appeared as "Casmodon" and was one of the Devil Invaders.

Zeemon is one of the Guardians. He is an important Guardian leader.

Zeemon in the animated series

Zeemon first appears in the very first episode of Challenge of the GoBots. He is among the Guardian leaders planning to stop the Renegades. Due to animation mistakes, the Renegade Herr Fiend sometimes looks exactly like Zeemon in the first episode.

Zeemon appears in "Lost on Gobotron" and "Genius and Son." In "Genius and Son," he plans to give up the planet to Cy-Kill to prevent it from being destroyed. In "Doppleganger," the real Guardians, with help from Zeemon, Hans-Cuff, and Rest-Q, defeat their robot copies.

Zeemon appears in "Nova Beam," working with Staks and Path Finder on Gobotron. He also appears in "Et Tu Cy-Kill?" and GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords. In the movie, due to animation errors, he is sometimes shown looking like the Renegade Herr Fiend.

The Zod Monster is a giant, powerful character in the Gobots and Machine Robo stories and toy lines.

Zod is huge, even for a GoBot. He is wild and beast-like, one of Cy-Kill's favorite pets and most powerful weapons. Zod is like the Godzilla of the GoBots world. There was a Zod toy that could walk, and you could stop it by pressing a red button on its chest.

Zod in the animated series

Zod is left on Gobotron when Cy-Kill first travels to Earth. Cy-Kill tells Fitor not to use Zod against the Guardians yet, because he plans to use him later. The powerful warrior Courageous defeats Ultra Zod. Scooter once used a hologram (a 3D image) of Zod to make the Renegades run away.

Zod in comics

In the Eagle comic strip Robo Machines, Cy-Kill performed an operation to turn his master into Zod. Zod attacked the Command Centre, shooting down Royal-T and later killing Carry-All. Zod still had his master's intelligence and was able to design other evil robots. However, after his stabilizers were damaged by the Security Forces, Cy-Kill abandoned him.
