Rock Lords were a cool toy line from the 1980s. They were created by Tonka in 1986. These toys were a spin-off from the popular GoBots series. Rock Lords were special because they could change from rocks into powerful action figures!
Each Rock Lord toy came with its own weapons. These included axes, guns, and swords. There were even vehicles for them to drive into battle. The toys were based on a movie called GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords.
The Rock Lords toys were originally from Japan. They were part of Bandai's "Machine Robo" series. Just like many transforming toys, there were good guys and bad guys. The good Rock Lords were led by a hero named Boulder. The bad Rock Lords followed a villain named Magmar. Their famous slogan was "Powerful living rocks!".
Rock Lords were not as popular as some other transforming toys. For example, Transformers sold much better. But Rock Lords still managed to have three different toy series.
