Golden Hockey Stick facts for kids
The Golden Hockey Stick (called Zlatá hokejka in Czech) is a special award given to the very best ice hockey player from the Czech Republic. It started way back in the 1968–69 season. Back then, it was given to the top player in the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League.
After 1993, when the Czech Republic and Slovakia became separate countries, the award changed. Since then, it has been given to the best Czech player, no matter where they play in the world.
Jaromír Jágr has won this amazing award 12 times. That's more than any other player! David Pastrňák is also a big winner, having received it seven times.
