Goodland is a small community in Collier County, Florida, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town.

In 2020, about 312 people lived in Goodland. This was a bit more than the 267 people counted in 2010. Goodland is part of the larger Naples and Marco Island area.

Goodland is located on the southeast side of Marco Island. It is very close to Cape Romano, which is the southern tip of a nearby island. Cape Romano was where Hurricane Wilma officially made landfall in Florida. Making landfall means the center of a hurricane crossed onto land.

Goodland is known for its seafood restaurants. You can also find many boats there that offer fishing trips or tours.

Goodland's Location and Surroundings

Goodland is found in the southwestern part of Collier County. You can find it at these coordinates: 25°55′28″N 81°38′49″W / 25.924478°N 81.646876°W / 25.924478; -81.646876. The popular beachfront city of Marco Island is about 6 miles (10 km) to the west.

Goodland is almost completely surrounded by water. To the north, there is Goodland Bay. Coon Key Pass is to the east, and Blue Hill Creek is to the south. On the west side, an artificial waterway from Blue Hill Creek separates Goodland from a forested wetland. This wetland is part of Marco Island.

The total area of Goodland is about 0.38 square miles (0.99 km²). Most of this area is water. About 0.15 square miles (0.4 km²) is land, and 0.23 square miles (0.59 km²) is water. This means more than half of Goodland's area is water!

Goodland's Climate

Goodland has a tropical savanna climate. This type of climate means it has warm, dry winters. The summers are hot and humid. The wet season in Goodland runs from April 1 to September 30. The dry season is from October 1 to March 31.
