Where is Granite?
Granite is in the eastern part of Greer County. Two main roads, Highway 6 and Highway 9, meet in the southern part of town. Highway 6 goes north to Elk City and south to Altus. Highway 9 goes east to Hobart and west to Mangum.
A lake called Lake Altus is just 2 miles east of town. It's on the North Fork Red River. A tall hill called Headquarters Mountain is right next to the north side of town. It's about 1,980 feet high. The town covers an area of about 3.2 square miles (8.4 square kilometers), and all of it is land.
