Gray Peak is a tall mountain peak in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. It stands at 10,298 feet (3,139 m) high. This mountain is part of the Gallatin Range and is found in a very quiet, remote part of the park.
Exploring Gray Peak
Gray Peak is located in the northwest area of Yellowstone National Park. It is about 9.1 miles (14.6 km) west-southwest of Mammoth Hot Springs. It is also about 8.9 miles (14.3 km) north of another mountain called Mount Holmes.
Reaching the Summit
There are no official trails that go all the way to the top of Gray Peak. This means it is a challenging climb for experienced hikers. The closest marked trail is the Fawn Pass Trail. This trail runs along the southern side of the mountain. It is about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the peak.
