The Green Line is a special train route in Chicago. It's part of the Chicago Transit Authority's "L" system. This line is unique because it's the only one that runs completely above the ground. It uses some of the oldest parts of the "L" system, which were built way back in 1892!
The Green Line is about 20.695 miles (33.305 km) long. It has 30 stops along its route. It connects the towns of Forest Park and Oak Park (at Harlem/Lake station). From there, it travels through Chicago's West Side and into the Loop. Then, it goes to the South Side, reaching areas like Englewood (Ashland/63rd) and Woodlawn (Cottage Grove/63rd).
In September 2012, about 70,554 people rode the Green Line on an average weekday.
