Gregory Lamarr Kindle (born September 16, 1950) is a former American football player. He played as an offensive lineman, which means he helped block for his team's offense. Greg Kindle played four seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was part of the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons. He was chosen by the Cardinals in the 1974 NFL draft after playing college football at Tennessee State University.

Early Life and High School
Gregory Lamarr Kindle was born on September 16, 1950. His hometown is Houston, Texas. He went to Weavey High School in Houston. Interestingly, he mostly played basketball in high school. He did not start playing football until his last year of high school.
College Football Career
Kindle played college football for the Tennessee State Tigers. He was a key player for four years, from 1970 to 1973. The Tennessee State Tigers were very successful during his time there. They won the Black College Football National Championship three times. These wins were in 1970, 1971, and 1973.
In 1973, his senior year, the Tigers had an amazing season. They did not lose any games. They were also named the AP small college national champions. This was a big achievement for the team. As a senior, Kindle received special honors. He was named a first-team Black All-American and a second-team small college All-American. After his successful college career, he was invited to play in several important college all-star games.
Professional Football Career
St. Louis Cardinals (1974–1975)
The St. Louis Cardinals picked Greg Kindle in the 1974 NFL draft. He was the 33rd player chosen overall. He officially joined the team in January 1974. In his first year, 1974, he played in ten games and started two of them.
In 1975, he played in all 14 games for the Cardinals. The team had a great season, winning 11 games and losing only 3. Kindle also played in the team's playoff game. However, the Cardinals lost that game to the Los Angeles Rams.
Atlanta Falcons (1976–1977)
In August 1976, Greg Kindle was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He played in ten games for the Falcons in 1976. He started all ten of those games. During that season, he also recovered one fumble. In August 1977, Kindle wanted to leave the Falcons. He played in only one game in 1977 before being released by the team in October.
Denver Broncos (1978)
Kindle signed with the Denver Broncos in March 1978. However, he was released by the Broncos in May 1978. This happened because he did not pass a physical exam.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1978–1979)
After leaving the NFL, Greg Kindle joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played in 13 games for them during the 1978 season. In one game in September 1978, Kindle and four other Blue Bombers players were ejected from the game for fighting. They were each fined $100. Kindle played in seven more games in 1979 before ending his professional career.
