Gregoire Lake Estates is a small community called a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada. It's part of the Wood Buffalo area. You can find it about 30 kilometers (18 miles) southeast of Fort McMurray, right along Highway 881.
History
In 2016, Gregoire Lake Estates faced a big challenge. On May 4, 2016, everyone in the hamlet had to leave their homes. This was because a large wildfire was spreading quickly near Fort McMurray. Safety was the top priority for everyone.
