History of Gu-Win

The area where Gu-Win is located sits between the towns of Guin and Winfield. Before the 1950s, this area was known as "Ear Gap."

The people living in Ear Gap did not want their community to become part of either Guin or Winfield. So, they decided to create their own town. They chose the name "Gu-Win" from a local drive-in movie theater. This theater is still open today, but it is now called the Blue Moon.

Geography of Gu-Win
