Guaraguao Arriba is a small area, or barrio, located in the city of Bayamón, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 1,832 people lived there. It's like a neighborhood within a bigger town.
A Look Back in Time
Guaraguao Arriba has an interesting past. After the Spanish–American War, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became a territory of the United States.
In 1899, the United States government did a count of all the people in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. The census found that 681 people lived in Guaraguao Arriba barrio at that time.
