Guy Savoy's Early Life and Training
Guy Savoy was born on July 24, 1953, in a town called Nevers, France. When he was two years old, his family moved to Bourgoin-Jallieu. His father worked as a gardener there. His mother owned a small bar that she later turned into a restaurant.
Guy Savoy learned how to cook by training with famous chefs. He spent three years learning from the Troisgros brothers, who were very respected chefs. After gaining experience in many top restaurants, he decided to open his own.
He first opened a restaurant in New York City in 1977. Then, in 1980, he opened a restaurant in Paris. This Paris restaurant quickly became famous. It earned two Michelin stars by 1985.
