For many years, Habo IF also had a strong bandy team. Bandy is a winter sport played on ice, a bit like ice hockey but with a ball instead of a puck. The men's bandy team was quite successful in the 1940s. They played in Sweden's second-highest league.

The team even tried three times to qualify for the very top league in Sweden during the 1940s. One memorable game was in 1944, when they played against IFK Nässjö in the qualifying rounds. Habo IF lost that game 3–6. The bandy section of the club eventually stopped in 1998.
