The Halfpint Range is a group of low, curved mountains located in Nevada. You can find it mostly in eastern Nye County. A small part of the range also stretches into southwest Lincoln County.

Discovering the Halfpint Range

This mountain range has a unique, slightly curved shape. It's not a very tall range, but it covers a good amount of land. The Halfpint Range is about 22 miles (35 km) long from north to south. It is also about 5 miles (8 km) wide from east to west.

Where is the Halfpint Range Located?

The western part of the Halfpint Range is inside a special government area. This area is known as the Nevada Test Site. To the west of the range, you'll find Yucca Flat and Plutonium Valley. To the south, there is an area called Frenchman Flat.

Mountains and Valleys Nearby

To the east of the Halfpint Range, there are other interesting places. These include the Buried Hills, the Papoose Range, and Papoose Lake. The Halfpint Range also has two notable peaks. French Peak is at the southern end, standing about 5,280 feet (1,609 meters) tall. At the northern end, you'll find Banded Mountain, which is about 5,336 feet (1,626 meters) high.
