Halsey is a village in Blaine and Thomas counties in Nebraska, United States. The population was 76 at the 2010 census.
Contents
History
Halsey was established in 1887 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for Halsey Yates, a railroad employee.
Geography
Halsey is located at 41°54′9″N 100°16′5″W / 41.90250°N 100.26806°W (41.902625, -100.268114), mostly in Thomas County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.19 square miles (0.49 km2), all land.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 76 people, 35 households, and 24 families residing in the village. The population density was 400.0 inhabitants per square mile (154.4/km2). There were 52 housing units at an average density of 273.7 per square mile (105.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 93.4% White, 1.3% Asian, and 5.3% from two or more races.
There were 35 households, of which 22.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 31.4% were non-families. 28.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.63.
The median age in the village was 54.8 years. 22.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 1.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 11.8% were from 25 to 44; 39.4% were from 45 to 64; and 25% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 46.1% male and 53.9% female.
