Halsey is a small city located in Linn County, Oregon, in the United States. In 2020, about 962 people lived there. It's a friendly place with a rich history.

A Look Back in Time
Halsey was started in 1872. It officially became a city on October 20, 1876. This means it got its own local government and rules. The city was named after William L. Halsey. He was an important person at the Oregon & California Railroad at that time.
In 1903, a big fire happened in Halsey. Most of the buildings in the downtown area burned down. The fire started at a creamery, which is a place where dairy products are made.
A very tall building in Halsey was its grain elevator. It was built in 1955 and stood 180 feet high. This building helped store grain from local farms. Part of it was taken down in 2012 because it was getting old and unsafe.
In 2022, two people from Halsey, James Tow and Keith Tow, created a new type of powerful handgun cartridge. It was named the .500 Bushwhacker.
