The Ham Branch is a cool river in New Hampshire, United States. It's about 12.2-mile-long (19.6 km). This river is a part of the larger Gale River system. It also connects to the Ammonoosuc River. All these rivers eventually flow into the big Connecticut River. This means the Ham Branch is part of the watershed for the Connecticut River.
Where the Ham Branch River Flows
The Ham Branch river starts in a town called Easton. It begins high up in the White Mountain National Forest. From there, it flows north. It travels through a valley. This valley is at the western side of the Kinsman Range, which is part of the White Mountains.
Joining Other Rivers
As the Ham Branch flows, it collects water from several smaller streams. These smaller streams are called tributaries. Finally, the Ham Branch joins the Gale River. This meeting point is in the village of Franconia.
Along the River
If you ever visit, you'll notice that New Hampshire Route 116 follows the Ham Branch. The road runs right alongside the river for almost its entire journey.
