Where is Hampshire Located?
Hampshire is in the northwest part of Kane County. Most of the village is in Hampshire Township. A small part of it reaches into Rutland Township and also north into Coral Township in McHenry County.

The village is next to Huntley to the northeast. It also borders Pingree Grove to the southeast.
Major Roads Near Hampshire
Illinois Route 72 runs through the southern part of Hampshire. This road goes east about 4 miles (6.4 km) to Starks. It also goes west about 8 miles (12.9 km) to Genoa.
U.S. Route 20 is on the edge of the village to the northeast. This route leads northwest about 13 miles (20.9 km) to Marengo. It also goes southeast about 12 miles (19.3 km) to Elgin. Hampshire is about 52 miles (83.7 km) northwest of the center of Chicago.
