History of Hampton
Hampton was started in 1879 by a person named Joshua Cox. He worked to get a railroad built through the town. This was important for travel and trade.
Joshua Cox and his brother James Cox made history in 1891. On June 19, they were the first people to ship cattle from the United States all the way to Liverpool, England. This was a big deal for farming and trade at the time.
