Hansika Motwani (born August 9, 1991) is a famous Indian actress. She mostly acts in Tamil and Telugu movies. Hansika started acting when she was a child in Hindi films.
Later, she became a lead actress in Telugu movies like Desamuduru (2007), Kantri (2008), and Maska (2009). She began her career in Tamil cinema with Mappillai (2011). She has been in many successful Tamil films such as Engeyum Kadhal (2011), Velayudham (2011), Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (2012), Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2013), Singam II (2013), and Aranmanai (2014). Hansika has also acted in the Malayalam movie Villain (2017).

Early Life and Education
Hansika Motwani was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her family is Sindhi Hindu. Her father, Pradeep Motwani, is a businessman. Her mother, Mona Motwani, is a skin doctor, also known as a dermatologist. Hansika went to school at Podar International School and the International Curriculum School in Santacruz, both in Mumbai.
Acting Journey
Starting as a Child Star (2001–2010)
Hansika first appeared on TV in a show called Shaka Laka Boom Boom. She also acted in another Indian TV show, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand. Many people remember her as one of the children in the popular Hindi movie Koi... Mil Gaya.
In 2007, when she was just 15 years old, Hansika got her first main role. This was in the Telugu film Desamuduru. She won an award called the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South for her great acting in this movie. After that, she acted in the Hindi film Aap Kaa Surroor with Himesh Reshammiya.
In 2008, her movie Bindaas came out. It starred Puneeth Rajkumar and was her only Kannada film so far. Later that year, she was seen in Kantri with Jr. NTR.
Becoming a Leading Lady (2011–2015)
Hansika started her career in Tamil movies with Mappillai. Her next Tamil film, Engeyum Kadhal, was very successful. In the same year, she acted alongside the famous actor Vijay in Velayudham.
In 2012, she had two movies released. One was the romantic comedy Oru Kal Oru Kannadi in Tamil. This movie was a big hit and she received good reviews for her acting. Her Telugu film Denikaina Ready also got a positive response. She was even nominated for a Best Actress award for her work.
In 2013, Hansika appeared in four Tamil films. These included Settai, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, Singam II with Suriya, and Biriyani with Karthi.
She had five movies released in 2014. Two were Telugu films: the comedy Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda and the action film Power. Her Tamil movies were the fantasy film Maan Karate with Sivakarthikeyan, the horror-comedy Aranmanai, and the action thriller Meaghamann.
In 2015, Aambala was her first movie, which was her third time working with director Sundar C. Her second movie that year was Romeo Juliet, her second film with Jayam Ravi. She also acted in Vaalu with Silambarasan.
Recent Films (2016–Present)
In 2016, Aranmanai 2 was released. Hansika then had a few movies that didn't do as well, like Uyire Uyire and Pokkiri Raja. Her last movie in 2016 was Manithan with Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Bogan was her first movie in 2017 and it was well-liked. Many critics praised her acting in certain scenes. She also acted in a Telugu film called Luckunnodu. In 2017, she made her debut in Malayalam films with Villain.
In 2018, her movies included Gulaebaghavali, where she played a con artist, and Thuppakki Munai. In 2019, she was in the Tamil film 100 and the Telugu film Tenali Ramakrishna BA. BL.
Her 50th film was Maha (2022). More recently, she appeared in the horror film 105 Minuttess (2024) and Guardian (2024).
Personal Life
Hansika Motwani often practices meditation. She has shared that chanting "Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo" helps her relax and has been good for her life and career. She follows Buddhism.
Hansika married businessman Sohail Khaturiya on December 4, 2022. Their wedding took place at the Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur.
