History of Hasty
The Hasty post office first opened its doors in 1910. The community was named after Lon Hasty, who was an early settler in the area. Today, the post office in Hasty uses the ZIP code 81044.

Where is Hasty Located?
Hasty is found in the northeastern part of Bent County. It is located just north of the dam that creates the John Martin Reservoir on the Arkansas River.
U.S. Highway 50 goes right through Hasty. If you travel west on this highway, you will reach Las Animas, which is about 16 miles away. Las Animas is the main town and county seat of Bent County. If you go east on Highway 50, you will arrive in Lamar, which is about 20 miles away.
