Hawley is a small city located in Jones County, Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 545 people lived there. It is a quiet place that is part of the larger Abilene metropolitan area.

History of Hawley
The community of Hawley was named after Robert B. Hawley. He was a Congressman, which means he was a person elected to represent his area in the U.S. government.
On the evening of May 2, 2024, a strong tornado struck the area southwest of Hawley.
Geography of Hawley
Hawley is found in the southeastern part of Jones County. Two main roads, U.S. Routes 83 and 277, go through the southwestern side of the city. These roads can take you about 11 miles (18 km) northwest to Anson, which is the main town of the county. They can also take you about 13 miles (21 km) southeast to a bigger city called Abilene.
Hawley covers an area of about 7.6 square kilometers (or 2.94 square miles). Only a very small part of this area, about 0.02 square kilometers, is covered by water. The Clear Fork of the Brazos River flows through the city, just south of its center.

The weather in Hawley is usually hot and dry in the summer. Winters are generally mild to cool. Hawley has what is called a humid subtropical climate. This means it gets a good amount of rain, especially in warmer months, and has warm temperatures for much of the year.
