Hebron is a city located in Thayer County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is the main town, also known as the county seat, of Thayer County. In 2020, about 1,441 people lived in Hebron.

History of Hebron

Hebron was started around 1869 by a group of people called the Disciples of Christ. They named the new town after an old city called Hebron.

The historic Hebron United States Post Office building was built in 1937. A famous architect named Louis A. Simon designed it. Today, this post office is a special historic place.

In 1953, a strong tornado hit Hebron. It caused a lot of damage to the town.

In 2021, the United States Department of Agriculture announced a big water project. A large well site was planned near Hebron. This project will help farmers in Nebraska and Kansas get more water for their crops.
