Henry Josey (born September 25, 1991) is an American former professional football player. He played as a running back, a position where players run with the ball. He was last a member of the Ottawa Redblacks team in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Before playing professionally, he played college football for the Missouri Tigers.

Early Life and High School Sports
Henry Josey grew up in Angleton, Texas. His father, Henry Neal, was also a talented athlete. He set a national high school record in the 100-meter dash back in 1990.
Henry Josey started his football journey at Angleton High School. In 2007, he began playing as a linebacker. Later, as a junior, he switched to running back. In that year, he ran for 1,267 yards and scored 20 touchdowns. As a senior in 2009, he continued to impress, gaining 1,369 rushing yards and scoring 15 touchdowns.
Besides football, Josey was also a great track & field athlete. He finished second in the 100-meter race at a big meet in 2010. He ran his fastest time ever, 10.50 seconds. He also competed in the long jump, with his best jump being 6.48 meters.
College Football Career
Henry Josey played college football for the Missouri Tigers. He showed great talent during his time there.
First Season: 2010
As a freshman in 2010, Josey quickly made an impact. In his very first game against McNeese State, he ran for 112 yards and scored three touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was a long 62-yard run! For the whole 2010 season, he ran for 437 yards and scored five touchdowns.
Star Season: 2011
In 2011, Josey became the main running back for the Missouri Tigers. He had an amazing game against Western Illinois. He ran for 263 yards and scored three touchdowns in just the first half! He didn't even need to play in the second half. The next week, he ran for 133 yards and a touchdown against the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners.
During the 2011 season, Josey ran for a total of 1,168 yards. He averaged an incredible 8.1 yards every time he carried the ball. This was one of the best averages in all of college football. He also averaged 116.8 rushing yards per game. Sadly, his great season ended early because of a serious knee injury.
Coming Back: 2013
After missing the 2012 season due to his injury, Josey made a strong comeback in 2013. He played in all 14 games that year. He ran for 1,166 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. This was a fantastic return!
By the end of his college career, Josey had run for 2,771 yards. He holds a record at Missouri for averaging 7.0 yards per carry, which is very impressive. After the 2013 season, he decided to enter the 2014 NFL draft to play professional football.
Professional Football Career
After his successful college career, Henry Josey began his journey in professional football.
Playing in the NFL
Josey signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in May 2014. He played well during the pre-season games. However, he was later released by the Eagles. He then joined the practice squad for the Jacksonville Jaguars in August 2014. Later that year, in December, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
Playing in the CFL
In May 2015, Josey moved to the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the Toronto Argonauts. During the 2015 season, he carried the ball 16 times and also caught four passes.
In September 2017, Josey signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in the CFL. He was with the team until April 2018.
