Hinder is an American rock band that started in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 2001. The band was formed by lead singer Austin John Winkler, guitarist Joe "Blower" Garvey, and drummer Cody Hanson. Later, in 2003, Mike Rodden joined as the bass player and Mark King became another guitarist, completing the band's main lineup.
With Austin John Winkler as their singer, Hinder released four studio albums. These included Extreme Behavior (2005), Take It to the Limit (2008), All American Nightmare (2010), and Welcome to the Freakshow (2012). Cody Hanson and Austin Winkler wrote most of the songs for these first four albums.
In 2013, Austin Winkler left the band. Hinder then searched for a new lead singer and found Marshal Dutton. With Marshal Dutton, they have released two more albums: When the Smoke Clears (2015) and The Reign (2017). The band is currently working on their seventh studio album. Hinder was honored by being added to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
