Holy Trinity, Ashby-de-la-Zouch is a church in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, England. It belongs to the Church of England and is part of the Diocese of Leicester.

Building the Church

This church was built a long time ago, between 1838 and 1840. A man named Henry Isaac Stevens, an architect from Derby, designed it. Later, in 1866, another architect, James Piers St Aubyn, added the chancel. The chancel is the part of the church where the altar is usually located.

The church was officially opened and made sacred on August 13, 1840. This special ceremony was led by George Davys, who was the Bishop of Peterborough at the time.

A very important person, the Marquess of Hastings, gave the land for the church to be built. The building cost more than £3,000, which was a lot of money back then! People living in the area helped raise this money. They also got help from the Church Building Society. The church was designed to hold over 900 people, and 600 of those seats were free for anyone to use.

Working Together: The Team Ministry

Holy Trinity Church is part of a group of churches called the Ashby and Breedon Team Ministry. This means they work together to serve their communities.

Here are the other churches in this team:

  • St Matthew's Church, Worthington
  • St Helen's Church, Ashby-de-la-Zouch

The Church Organ

Holy Trinity Church has a special musical instrument called a pipe organ. It has two keyboards, called manuals. This organ was made by a company called Brindley & Foster. It seems to have been built around 1867, not long after the chancel was added to the church.

You can find out more details about this specific organ on the British Institute of Organ Studies National Pipe Organ Register website. The record number for it is N04546.
