Homfray Channel is a deep, narrow waterway in British Columbia, Canada. It acts like a natural passage between East Redonda Island and the mainland coast. This channel is an important part of the many waterways found along the coast of British Columbia.

Exploring Homfray Channel's Location

Homfray Channel is a key waterway in the Discovery Islands area. It connects two larger bodies of water. To the southwest, it links up with Desolation Sound. To the north, it leads into Toba Inlet.

Along the eastern side of the channel, you'll find several smaller bays. The biggest and most well-known of these is Forbes Bay. These bays offer sheltered spots along the channel's edge.

Islands in the Channel

Within Homfray Channel itself, there are a few islands. The two largest and most notable islands are Melville Island and Eveleigh Island. These islands add to the natural beauty and geography of the channel.

Homfray Channel and the Salish Sea

Homfray Channel plays a role in defining the northern edge of the Salish Sea. The Salish Sea is a large network of coastal waterways. It includes the Strait of Georgia, Puget Sound, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The channel helps mark where this important sea area begins in the north.
