Discover Honey Creek: A Missouri Stream

Honey Creek begins its journey south of a town called Marionville. This starting point is known as the stream's headwaters. From there, it flows generally north.

Where Does Honey Creek Flow?

As Honey Creek travels, it passes under a major road, U.S. Route 60. It also flows by the western side of Marionville. The stream then changes direction, turning first northwest and then west. Along this path, it goes past the small communities of Orange and Elliott.

Further along its course, Honey Creek flows under another road, Missouri Route 39. It then turns northwest again, passing by the community of Hoberg. Finally, Honey Creek meets and joins the Spring River. This meeting point, called a confluence, is just south of Interstate 44 and southwest of Mount Vernon.

How Did Honey Creek Get Its Name?

The name "Honey Creek" comes from the many honeybees that used to live in the area around the stream. It's a sweet name for a stream!
