Hook Head is a famous piece of land that sticks out into the sea in County Wexford, Ireland. It is located on the eastern side of where three rivers meet: the River Nore, River Suir, and River Barrow. This area is often called The Three Sisters. Hook Head is part of the Hook peninsula and is close to the historic place called Loftus Hall. You can find it about 50 kilometers from Wexford town on the R734 road.
The Irish name for Hook Head is Rinn Duáin. This means "Dubhán's point." It was named after a saint from the 5th century called Dubhán. His name means "little black-haired one." The English name, Hook Head, might come from a misunderstanding of his name, making it sound like "fishing-hook."
