Hopewell is a small village located in Marshall County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2020, about 421 people lived there. It's part of the larger Peoria area. Hopewell officially became a village in 1983.

Hopewell is found in the southwestern part of Marshall County. You can find its exact spot using coordinates: 40°59′2″N 89°27′25″W / 40.98389°N 89.45694°W.
A main road, Illinois Route 29, runs near Hopewell. It goes north about 3 miles (5 km) to Sparland and south about 5 miles (8 km) to Chillicothe.
The village sits on high ground. From here, you can look down over the Illinois River valley to the east. Route 29 follows the base of tall cliffs, about 150 feet (46 meters) high, which form the western edge of the valley.

Famous Sculpture in Hopewell
At the entrance to Hopewell, on top of a hill, you'll see a very large sculpture. It's a giant head of a Native American.
This sculpture is part of a special collection called the Trail of the Whispering Giants. A Hungarian-born artist named Peter Wolf Toth created these sculptures. He has made similar ones in all fifty U.S. states and even in some parts of Canada. Each sculpture honors the Native American people of that area.
