Horicon is located in Wisconsin, at coordinates 43.4482 degrees North and 88.6329 degrees West. The city covers an area of about 3.42 square miles, with most of it being land and a small part being water.

The city is special because it sits at the very southern end of the Horicon Marsh. This marsh is a huge wetland area. Many visitors come to Horicon each year. They especially love to see the large groups of Canada geese during their migration.

A very important business in Horicon is the John Deere Horicon Works. This factory makes different types of equipment, including lawn and garden tractors. They also produce machines for golf courses and utility vehicles.

The founder of what became John Deere Horicon Works was Daniel Van Brunt. He invented a machine called a grain-drill. In 1896, he also started the Horicon Bank.

For local news, the Dodge County Pionier newspaper covers Horicon and nearby areas. It took over the Horicon Reporter in 2009.
