Hydro is a small town located in the state of Oklahoma, in the United States. It is found in two different counties: Caddo and Blaine. In 2020, about 927 people lived there.

Hydro's Early Days
Hydro was officially started on August 6, 1901. It was built close to the Choctaw, Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad, which was important for travel and trade back then.
When the town first began, it was called "Caddo." However, when the post office opened in September 1901, the name was changed. The new name, "Hydro," was chosen because the town had a lot of fresh water from its wells.
Where is Hydro Located?
Hydro is in the northwestern part of Caddo County. A small section of the town also reaches north into Blaine County. The town sits at an elevation of about 1,557 feet (475 meters) above sea level.
Hydro is very close to Interstate 40, a major highway. You can get to the town from Exit 88. If you drive west on I-40 for about 7 miles, you'll reach Weatherford. Driving east for about 61 miles will take you to downtown Oklahoma City.
The United States Census Bureau says that Hydro covers a total area of about 0.7 square miles (1.8 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
