Iglesia Antigua is a small community in Cameron County, Texas. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area identified by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes. In 2020, about 415 people lived there.

Before 2010, Iglesia Antigua was part of a larger CDP called Bluetown-Iglesia Antigua. Now, it's its own separate place. It's also part of the bigger Brownsville–Harlingen Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Where is Iglesia Antigua Located?

Iglesia Antigua is in the southwestern part of Cameron County. To its east, you'll find Bluetown. To the west is Santa Maria.

The Rio Grande river is to the south. This river forms the Mexico–United States border between the U.S. and Mexico. U.S. Route 281 goes through the community. This road can take you about 28 miles southeast to Brownsville. It also goes about 27 miles west to Hidalgo.

The United States Census Bureau says Iglesia Antigua covers about 5.6 square kilometers (about 2.2 square miles). Most of this area, about 5.4 square kilometers (2.1 square miles), is land. The rest, about 0.2 square kilometers (0.08 square miles), is water.
