Imiliit is an island located in the far northern part of Canada. It's a member of the huge group of islands known as the Arctic Archipelago. This island is found in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, which is a large territory in Canada's Arctic.

The name Imiliit comes from the Inuktitut language, which is spoken by the Inuit people. Before it was called Imiliit, the island was known as Ragged Island.

Where is Imiliit Located?

Imiliit is an island that has no people living on it. It sits in a bay called Tasiujaq, right where Milne Inlet opens up. This island is shaped in a very irregular way, almost like a puzzle piece. It is located just off the coast of a much larger island called Baffin Island.

Other Ragged Islands

It's interesting to know that there is another, smaller island also called Ragged Island. This other island is found in a different area, inside Chesterfield Inlet. It's located to the northwest of an island known as Big Island. This is why the island we are talking about is now called Imiliit, to avoid confusion.
