Inazuma Eleven (pronounced Ee-na-zoo-ma E-leh-bun) is a super popular Japanese story about soccer! It started as a series of video games created by Level-5. Then, it became a manga (Japanese comic book) written and drawn by Tenya Yabuno.
The manga was published by Shogakukan in a magazine called CoroCoro Comic starting in June 2008. This amazing series even won awards! It won the 2010 Kodansha Manga Award and the 2011 Shogakukan Manga Award in the Children's Manga category.

Story of Inazuma Eleven
The main story of Inazuma Eleven follows a cheerful soccer goalkeeper named Endou Mamoru (also known as Mark Evans). He plays for Raimon Jr. High. His team only has six players, and they are in danger of being shut down!
To save their soccer club, Endou and his team must win a match against Teikoku Gakuen. This is the best soccer team in all of Japan! Endou works hard to find four more players to complete his team.
Adventures of the Team
In the second part of the story, Endou and his team face new challenges. They have to gather more players to defeat a group of new enemies called Aliea Gakuen. These enemies are very strong!
Later, in the third part, a big tournament called the Football Frontier International is announced. A special team called Inazuma Japan is put together. This team is coached by Kudou Michiya.
Main Characters
Here are some of the important players and people from the Raimon Jr. High soccer team:
- Endou Mamoru (Mark Evans) (Captain, Goalkeeper, Libero) – Endou is a very cheerful goalkeeper. He never gives up!
- Gouenji Shuuya (Axel Blaze) (Forward) – Gouenji is the team's best striker. He is also very smart and helps the team make good decisions.
- Kidou Yuuto (Jude Sharp) (Midfielder) – Kidou is easy to spot because he wears goggles and a red cape. He is a very skilled midfielder.
- Fubuki Shirou (Shawn Froste) (Forward, Defender) – Fubuki is from Hokkaido. He is amazing at both defending and scoring goals.
- Kazemaru Ichirouta (Nathan Swift) (Defender) – Kazemaru used to be on the track team. Endou convinced him to join the soccer team.
- Kabeyama Heigorou (Jack Wallside) (Defender) – Even though he is very tall, Kabeyama is a shy person.
- Domon Asuka (Bobby Shearer) (Defender) – Domon lived in America before. He didn't like soccer for a while because of a past accident.
- Ichinose Kazuya (Erik Eagle) (Midfielder) – Ichinose is childhood friends with Domon and Aki.
- Kino Aki (Silvia Woods) (Manager) – Aki helps manage the team. She used to play soccer herself.
- Otonashi Haruna (Celia Hills) (Manager) – Haruna used to work for the school paper. She became a manager after seeing Raimon play.
- Raimon Natsumi (Nelly Raimon) (Manager) – Natsumi is the daughter of the school's chairman. She became a manager because she saw Endou's passion for soccer.
- Shourinji "Shourin" Ayumu (Timothy "Timmy" Sanders) (Defender) – Shourin is one of Endou's original teammates.
- Endou Daisuke (David Evans) (Supporter, Goalkeeper, Coach) – He is Endou's grandfather and the coach of the original Inazuma Eleven team.
- Handa Shinichi (Steve Grim) (Midfielder) – Another of Endou's teammates. He plays both defense and sometimes forward.
- Megane Kakeru (William "Willy" Glass) (Forward) – He is a bit proud and later becomes a manager.
- Kageno Jin (Jim Wrath) (Defender) – Kageno joined the team to help and become more known.
- Sakichi Shishido (Sam Kincaid) (Midfielder) – Shishido is very flexible and can play many different positions.
- Kūsuke "Max" Matsuno (Maxwell "Max" Carson) (Midfielder) – Another one of Endou's first teammates.
- Teppei Kurimatsu (Todd Ironside) (Defender) – Kurimatsu is one of the shortest team members. He has a unique look with a bucktooth and a bandage.
- Touko Zaizen (Victoria "Tori" Vanguard) (Defender) – She is the daughter of the prime minister and a captain of another team.
- Yūya Kogure (Scott "Sneaky Scotty" Banyan) (Defender) – Kogure is a small character who loves to play pranks.
- Rika Urabe (Suzette "Sue" Heartland) (Forward) – Rika plays on a girls' soccer team in Osaka.
- Jousuke Tsunami (Hurley Kane) (Defender) – Tsunami loves to surf and is one of the oldest players at 15.
- Yuki Tachimukai (Darren LaChance) (Midfielder, Goalkeeper) – He is a big fan of Endou and becomes the second goalkeeper for Inazuma Japan.
- Hiroto Kiyama (Xavier Foster) (Midfielder) – He grew up in an orphanage and saw an elderly man as his parent figure.
- Ryuuji Midorikawa (Jordan Greenway) (Midfielder) – He is the captain of Gemini Storm and a good friend of Hiroto Kiyama.
- Toramaru Utsunomiya (Austin Hobbes) (Forward) – Toramaru is a new character who joins the team in the FFI Arc.
- Seiya Tobitaka (Archer Hawkins) (Defender) – Seiya is another new character introduced in the FFI Arc.

A manga is a type of Japanese comic book. The Inazuma Eleven manga series was written and drawn by Tenya Yabuno. It is based on the video game series.
The manga started being published in June 2008 in the Shogakukan magazine CoroCoro Comic. It finished in September 2011. A total of ten tankōbon (which are like collected books of the comics) volumes of Inazuma Eleven were released in Japan.

Anime Television Series
The first animated TV series, also called Inazuma Eleven, was made by OLM, Inc. and Dentsu Inc. It was directed by Katsuhito Akiyama. There were 127 episodes in total! They aired on TV Tokyo from October 5, 2008, to April 27, 2011.
A second series, called Inazuma Eleven Go!, started airing on May 4, 2011. This series was based on a different manga with the same name.
Anime Film
There is also an animated movie called Inazuma Eleven: Saikyō Gundan Ōga Shūrai. It was released on December 23, 2010.
