Inland Township is a local government area in Benzie County, Michigan, in the United States. In 2020, about 2,386 people lived here. It is located in the eastern part of Benzie County and shares a border with Grand Traverse County. The Platte River flows through the northern part of the township.

History of Inland Township
Inland Township has an interesting past. It was first set up in April 1867. At that time, it was called "North Climax Township." This happened when Benzie County was still connected to Grand Traverse County for how it was managed.
Its name was officially changed to "Inland" in 1869. This new name has stayed with the township ever since.

Bendon Community
Bendon is a small community in the eastern part of the township. It is located where Cinder and Bendon roads meet. This area grew around a sawmill, which is a place where wood is cut.
Bendon was first called "Kentville." This name came from Albert Kent, a farmer who became the first postmaster there in 1888. A post office is where mail is handled. Bendon also had a train station on a railway that is no longer used. The post office changed its name to Bendon in 1892 and closed in 1954.
Inland Corners Community
Inland Corners is another small area in the eastern part of the township. It is found where Honor Highway (US 31) meets Lake Ann Road and Bendon Road. This place also had a post office called Inland. It was open from 1866 until 1903.
Platte River Community
Platte River is a community located in the western part of the township. It is named after the Platte River that flows nearby.
