Instant soup is a super quick and easy type of soup to make! You can prepare it in a flash. Some instant soups are made at home, but most are produced in large factories. These factories use special methods to keep the soup fresh for a long time. There are tons of different kinds of instant soups, with all sorts of flavors and styles.
Most instant soups you buy in stores are either dried, canned, or frozen.

Different Kinds of Instant Soup
Commercial instant soups come in a few main forms.
Dry Soup Mixes
Some instant soups come as a packet of dry soup stock or powder. These don't have any water in them. To make them, you just add water and heat it up for a short time. Sometimes, you can even just add hot water directly to the dry mix. A popular example is Unilever's Cup-a-Soup.
Canned Instant Soups
Canned, or tinned, instant soups already contain liquid soup. You just heat them up to enjoy them. Some canned soups are "condensed," meaning they are very thick. You need to add water to them to make them the right strength. Other canned soups are "ready-to-eat," which means they are already the perfect consistency. In the United States, some people even use condensed soups without adding water, like a sauce for cooking! You can also find some liquid instant soups in special containers that you can heat directly in a microwave.
Instant Noodle Soups
Instant noodle soups, like Cup Noodles, are very popular. They usually contain dried instant ramen noodles, tiny pieces of dried vegetables and meat, and seasoning packets. To make them, you just add hot water.
Packaged instant ramen noodle soup often comes as a block of dried noodles. It usually includes a seasoning packet that you add to the noodles and water. Some even have extra packets of oil or garnishes to make the soup taste even better.
