Ira Reynolds Newble II (born January 20, 1975) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He played in the NBA for several teams. These teams included the San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Seattle SuperSonics, and Los Angeles Lakers.

Ira Newble's College Basketball Journey
After finishing high school in 1993, Ira Newble went to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He then attended Miami University in Ohio. There, he studied sports marketing. In his final year at Miami, he played really well. He scored about 11.3 points per game. He also grabbed 7.5 rebounds and made 1.2 assists per game. His great performance earned him an Honorable Mention award. This award was from the All-Mid-American Conference.

Starting His Professional Career
Ira Newble began his professional basketball journey in different leagues. He played for three seasons in the International Basketball Association (IBA). Later, he joined the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). In 2000, he also played basketball overseas. He had more short periods in the CBA in 2001. In 2002, he played in the United States Basketball League (USBL).
Playing in the NBA
Ira Newble joined the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. He signed with them as a free agent. His first NBA game was in the 2000–2001 season. He played in 27 games that season. He started in six of those games. He played for about seven minutes per game. During this time, he scored 2.0 points per game. He also got 1.3 rebounds per game. Time with the Atlanta Hawks

Injuries made it tough for Newble in the 2005–06 NBA season. He missed 21 games because of a foot injury. He also missed 14 games due to a facial infection. This limited him to only 36 games. In 2006–07, he played only 15 games. In 2007–08, he played better. He played in 41 games for the Cavaliers. On February 21, 2008, he was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics. Newble saw a letter from an organization called Aid Still Required. The letter expressed worry about money funding the crisis. He gathered signatures from players across the NBA. This letter was then given to the Chinese government. It was also given to the President of the Olympic Committee. This was for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
