Irma started sharing her music online in 2007. She posted her first videos on YouTube. These videos included her own songs, like "Letter to the Lord." She also sang cover versions of famous songs. Some of these were "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 and "New Soul" by Yael Naim.

She made many homemade videos. In these videos, she sang acoustic covers with other musicians. Some of these artists were French, like Tété and Matthieu Chédid. She also sang with international artists. These included Tom Dice from Belgium and Patrice from Germany. She even performed "I Want You Back" with will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas.

In 2008, Irma met Michael Goldman. He helped start a music company called My Major Company. Irma signed a record deal with them. She released her first album, Letter to the Lord, in February 2011. This album was very popular in France. It reached the top ten and sold enough copies to be certified platinum.

Irma went on tour around Europe in 2011. Later that year, she signed another record deal. This one was with Universal Republic Records to release her album in the United States. In 2012, Irma was part of a European Google Chrome advertisement. This ad showed how she became famous after sharing her videos on YouTube. She was also nominated for the best French act at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards.

In 2013, she re-released her hit song "I Know." She sang it as a duet with German singer-songwriter Mic Donet for the German market. Irma's music video for "Save Me" won an award in 2014. It received the "Starz People’s Choice Award" at the 37th Starz Denver Film Festival.
