Irvona is a small town, called a borough, located in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2020, about 549 people lived there.
History of Irvona
Irvona was named after Edward A. Irvin. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Union Army and also served in the Pennsylvania Senate. The town officially became a borough on September 2, 1890.
Geography of Irvona
Irvona is found in the southern part of Clearfield County. It is located along Clearfield Creek, which is a smaller river that flows into the West Branch Susquehanna River.
Pennsylvania Route 53 goes through Irvona. This road leads south about 2 miles (3.2 km) to Coalport. It also goes northeast about 4 miles (6.4 km) to Glen Hope.
