Isaac Nnamdi Okoro (born January 26, 2001) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Chicago Bulls in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball for the Auburn Tigers.
Isaac is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He mainly plays as a small forward. In high school, he helped his team win a state championship. He was also recognized as a top player in college. In 2020, the Cleveland Cavaliers picked him as the fifth overall player in the NBA draft.

Early Life and Basketball Beginnings
Isaac Okoro was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents came from Nigeria. He grew up in the Atlanta area. Isaac started playing basketball in his local church league.
When he was about seven or eight years old, he began training. His coach was Omar Cooper, whose son, Sharife Cooper, later became Isaac's high school teammate. Isaac also played for a team called the A.O.T. Running Rebels. This team was part of the Nike EYBL circuit, a well-known amateur league.
High School Success
Isaac played high school basketball at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. He was a key player for all four years.
Freshman and Sophomore Years
In his first year, he averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. His team won the regional title. They also reached the state quarterfinals. As a sophomore, Isaac averaged 22.5 points per game. He helped McEachern win the regional championship again. The team made it to the state semifinals. He earned honors like the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class 7A All-State second team.
Junior and Senior Years
During his junior year, Isaac averaged 20.3 points and 6.4 rebounds. McEachern reached the state quarterfinals. He was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class 7A All-State first team. In his senior season, Isaac had amazing stats. He averaged 19.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.7 steals per game.
He led McEachern to win the City of Palms Classic and the Tournament of Champions. His team finished the regular season with a perfect 32–0 record. They were the first undefeated team in Georgia's highest classification since 1995. McEachern was ranked number 1 nationally by several websites. Isaac scored 16 points to help his team win their first Class 7A state championship. He was also named to the MaxPreps All-American second team. In April 2019, Isaac's jersey was retired at McEachern. He was only the second basketball player in the school's history to receive this honor.
Choosing a College
By the end of high school, Isaac was a highly sought-after player. On July 25, 2018, he decided to play college basketball for Auburn. He chose Auburn over many other top schools. He became one of the highest-ranked players to commit to Auburn's basketball program.
College Career at Auburn
Isaac Okoro quickly made an impact at Auburn. In his first game, he scored 12 points. In the next game, he scored 17 points. He was named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Week in November 2019.
He scored a season-high 23 points in a game against Vanderbilt in January 2020. After the regular season, he received several awards. He was named to the All-SEC Second Team. He also made the SEC All-Freshman Team and the SEC All-Defensive Team. Isaac averaged 12.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game in his freshman year. After this successful season, he decided to enter the 2020 NBA draft.
Professional Basketball Journey

Cleveland Cavaliers (2020–2025)
The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Isaac as the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He signed with the Cavaliers three days later. In his first preseason game, he scored the game-winning points. On December 23, 2020, Isaac made his official NBA debut. He started the game and scored 11 points, with 5 assists and 3 rebounds.
On May 4, 2021, he scored a career-high 32 points in a game against the Phoenix Suns. On March 23, 2023, Isaac hit a game-winning three-pointer against the Brooklyn Nets. This shot helped the Cavaliers win 116–114. On September 17, 2024, Isaac signed a new contract with the Cavaliers.
Chicago Bulls (2025–Present)
On July 6, 2025, Isaac Okoro was traded to the Chicago Bulls. He joined the Bulls in exchange for Lonzo Ball. He is currently playing for the Chicago Bulls.
Playing for Team USA
Isaac Okoro has also represented the United States in international competitions. He played in the 2018 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup in Argentina. In this tournament, he averaged 4.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. His team won the gold medal, showing his talent on a global stage.
