Isabeli Bergossi Fontana (born July 4, 1983) is a famous fashion model from Brazil. She is well-known for her work with big brands like Victoria's Secret. She has also appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine an amazing 58 times! Vogue Paris even named her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s.

Isabeli's Early Life

Isabeli Fontana was born in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Her parents are Maribel Bergossi and Antonio Carlos Fontana. She has Italian family roots. When she was just 13 years old, she reached the finals of the Elite Model Look contest in 1996. The next year, she moved from Brazil to Milan, Italy, to start her modeling career.

Isabeli's Modeling Career

Starting Out: 1996-1999

Isabeli Fontana began modeling at age 12. With her mother's support, she joined a local Elite Model Look contest and placed third. In 1997, she decided to become a professional model and moved to Milan.

Fontana started walking on fashion runways in Milan. She made her debut at Milan Fashion Week for big names like Versace, Givenchy, and Michael Kors. She was only 15 at the time. In 1999, when she was 16, she appeared in the Victoria's Secret lingerie catalog. This caused some talk because Victoria's Secret usually didn't use models younger than 18. Soon after, she signed with other major brands like Versace, Ralph Lauren, and Valentino.

Since 1999, she has modeled for many popular magazines. These include Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Marie Claire, ELLE, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Numéro.

Becoming Well-Known: 2000-2005

In 2001, Isabeli Fontana appeared on her first Vogue cover for Vogue Hellas. In 2002, she was on the cover of Vogue Paris. She became even more famous in 2004. She appeared on the cover of Vogue US with other top models like Gisele Bündchen.

In 2004, she became the face of Hermès. She also appeared in advertising campaigns for Versace and Chanel. In 2005, she was on the cover of Vogue Paris again.

Continued Success: 2008-Present

In 2008, Fontana appeared in many advertising campaigns. These included Versace, Balenciaga, Pepe Jeans, Roberto Cavalli, H&M, and Valentino. That same year, she made her debut on the Forbes list of the World's 15 Top-Earning Models. She was ranked 11th, having earned $3 million.

In 2009, she was featured as a 'Face of the Moment' in May's US Vogue. She also appeared in campaigns for Viktor & Rolf and Chanel. Fontana was on the cover of Vogue Paris in November. In 2010, she closed the Victoria's Secret "Game on" segment.

In June 2011, Fontana was on the cover of Vogue Paris and Vogue Korea. In 2014, she appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia.

Fontana has been the face of many different advertising campaigns. These include Armani Jeans, Chanel, Bulgari, Dolce and Gabbana, Emporio Armani, H&M, Hugo Boss, Massimo Dutti, Mango, Ralph Lauren, Revlon, Roberto Cavalli, Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, Versace, and Victoria's Secret. She was featured on the September 2004 cover of American Vogue as one of the "Models of the Moment."

Fontana was also part of the Pirelli Calendar several times. This includes the 2011 calendar, where models posed as Greek and Roman gods. In 2011, she was a judge for the Miss Universe 2011 contest.

Isabeli's Personal Life

When she was younger, Isabeli attended a Catholic school in Curitiba. She has two sons. Her first son, Zion, was born in 2003. Her second son, Lucas, was born in 2006. In 2021, she gained Italian citizenship because of her Italian family history.
