College Basketball Journey
Isaiah Canaan, who is 6 feet tall, grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a star player at Biloxi High School, leading his team to a state championship. After high school, he joined the Murray State team.
Starting Strong at Murray State
As a freshman in the 2009–10 season, Isaiah made a big impact. He scored about 10.4 points per game and was great at shooting three-pointers. He was named the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Freshman of the Year. His team, the Racers, won their league and the OVC tournament. Isaiah was even named the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The Racers then played in the NCAA tournament. They surprised many by beating Vanderbilt before losing a close game to Butler.
Continued Success in College
In his second year, Isaiah's scoring improved to 11.7 points per game. He was chosen for the First-Team All-OVC. The Racers won their second straight OVC regular-season championship.
His junior year was a huge success for both Isaiah and the team. Murray State started the season with an amazing 23 wins in a row! Isaiah was named MVP of the Great Alaska Shootout tournament, scoring 36 points in the final game. He was the team's top scorer and was recognized as one of the best college players in the country.
Isaiah was named the OVC Player of the Year twice, in 2012 and 2013. He was also a three-time First-Team All-OVC player. His jersey number 3 was retired by Murray State in 2018, which is a great honor.

Playing for the Philadelphia 76ers (2015–2016)
In February 2015, Isaiah was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. He quickly became their starting point guard. In March 2015, he had an amazing game, scoring a career-high 31 points and making eight three-pointers.
During the 2015–16 season, Isaiah made 158 three-pointers, which was one of the best single-season records for the 76ers. Unfortunately, his season ended early in April 2016 due to a shoulder injury.
